HAVELOCK, N.C. (WNCT) – Police have arrested a Havelock teen in an investigation into nearly a dozen residential burglaries.

19-year-old Tyler Austin Hunter was arrested Tuesday and charged with Two counts of First Degree Burglary, Five Counts of Attempted First Degree Burglary, Two counts of Larceny of a Firearm, One Count of Larceny after Breaking and Entering, and Five Counts of Injury to Real Property.

The Havelock Police Department said Thursday that over the course of May, it’s officers have worked tirelessly on a total of 7 residential burglaries and, 5 attempted residential burglaries. As part of the investigation, the department conducted undercover operations, increased uniformed patrols, and engaged in door to door canvassing in the affected neighborhoods.

Over the course of the investigation, officers recovered stolen property and interviewed numerous persons leading to Hunter’s arrest.

He was placed on a $25,000 bond and is being held in the Craven County Jail.
