HOOKERTON, N.C. (WNCT) – The Greene County Sheriff’s Office arrested a church treasurer and his wife on an embezzlement case, according to Sheriff Lemmie Smith.
46-year-old Ronald Harper was apprehended on June 3 after investigators found out he had embezzled an undisclosed amount of money from Hookerton Christian Church as early as January of 2013. He started as treasurer of that church in August of 2012.
Ronald’s wife, Tammy Harper, was charged with embezzlement of funds by public officers and trustees. Both received a $10,000 bond and are due in Greene County Court on June 17.
