WILSON, N.C. (WNCT) – Authorities need help finding a boy who failed to return to a juvenile detention facility after being allowed to visit his home.
The juvenile, identified by the Department of Public Safety only as Malik R., was in the custody of the Edgecombe Youth Development Center, but was allowed an 8-hour leave to be with his family. He failed to return Sunday.
The juvenile’s home county is Wilson. The division has notified local law enforcement and is cooperating fully with the search and investigation.
Members of the public should report sightings of Malik R. to local law enforcement officials.
