GREENVILLE, N.C. – WNCT 9 On Your Side is proud to announce the hiring of Ken Watling as the station’s new evening Co-Anchor. Ken joins Co-Anchor Angela Green, Chief Meteorologist Jerry Jackson and Sports Director Brian Bailey to bring viewers the most up to the minute and informative news, weather and sports in the East, weeknights on WNCT.

A native of Plymouth in Eastern North Carolina, Ken earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

He began his broadcast career at WWAY in Wilmington as a videographer, then later as a reporter and anchor. Most recently he served as Sports Director and anchor for the Buckeye Cable Sports Network in Ohio.

“I cannot tell you how excited we are to welcome Ken back to the East as our new Anchor. Ken’s knowledge of the area is an invaluable resource in his ability to cover the news for our viewers. He and Angela Green will make a dynamic team that the East can trust in every night,” said WNCT Vice President and General Manager John O. Lewis.
