KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – The morning showers in Kinston Saturday didn’t stop dozens of kids from fishing at Neuseway Park.
Families were able to borrow a fishing rod and bait for free and spend time with their children. Kids had a blast and even caught several fish.
A parent of four said she has a hard time getting her kids to play outdoors and enjoy nature.
“To get them out of the house and give them some adventure. It could get them a new hobby. They could be interested in it and it could be something that they may want to do every weekend or every other weekend,” Katitia Dawson said.
The Wildlife Commission hopes more children spend this summer enjoying what nature has to offer.
