Kinston’s Brandon Ingram named ACC Freshman of the Year

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – Kinston native Brandon Ingram has been named the ACC Freshman of the Year.
The honor is recognized by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. Ingram averaged 16.7 points per game in the regular season, along with 6.8 rebounds per contest.
His eight double-doubles were tops among ACC freshmen.
Virginia’s Malcolm Brogden was named the ACC Player of the Year and Miami’s Jim Larrañaga was awarded as the ACC Coach of the Year.
Ingram and Blue Devils will play the winner of North Carolina State/Wake Forest on Wednesday in the second round of the ACC Tournament.
