KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Kinston’s new police Chief Alonzo Jaynes started his first day with the Kinston Police Department Tuesday.
Jaynes came to Kinston with several years of experience. Most recently, he was the assistant police chief in Chapel Hill, and before that he was with the Durham Police Department for 17 years.
Jaynes is the first police chief in Kinston since their Department of Public Safety split earlier this year.
