Baseball season is just around the corner for the Wood Ducks and the City of Kinston is ready.
Local business owner say the team has a huge impact on the town and brings in people from all over the region.
Tonya Adams, a local business owner, said, the team also helps brings in business for locally owned restaurants and Mom and Pop shops.
“A lot of effort has been put into that ball team to get it back here and make it nice and make it enjoyable,” Adams said. “We love seeing Woody run around and play with the kids, and it’s just a good time for a small town in eastern North Carolina.”
Adams said, although Kinston is already rich with history, the baseball team brings more variety for tourists.
