KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) - Police have arrested one man on attempted murder charges and are looking for other man wanted in connection to a shooting that occurred in Kinston on June 22.
Rodney I. Meadows, 31, was charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Demario D. Washington has warrants for attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
On June 22 around 4:57 a.m., the Kinston Police Department responded to shots fired call along the 800 block of East Bright Street in Kinston.
Police arrived at the area and said they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was identified as Meadows.
Moments later, 29-year-old Quentin Jones arrived at UNC Lenoir suffering from a gunshot wound.
Investigation showed that Meadows and Jones were involved in the same shooting.
They were transported to the Vidant Medical Center for treatment.
On Tuesday, police obtained arrest warrants for Meadows and Washington for their involvement in the incident.
Police along with the US Marshal Task Force located and arrested Meadows without incident in Kinston.
Meadows was sent to the Lenoir County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 bond.
