Northeast Fire Department in Duplin County is distributing supplies for those affected by Hurricane Florence.
The fire station flooded during the storm, but as soon as the water was gone, they wasted no time handing out goods and supplies to families in the community.
The fire station has helped distribute goods to more than 400 families in Duplin and Pender counties so far.
"We average probably 80 to 100 families that we’re servicing a day here,” said Ted Demott, a volunteer firefighter. “By feeding them; giving them goods that they need."
The fire station is also looking for building materials to help families who did not have flood insurance.
