Greenville police release photos in Handy Mart robbery

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) - Greenville police have released surveillance photos from an armed robbery that left one victim injured at a Handy Mart in Greenville January 22. 

The Greenville Police Department responded to an armed robbery reported at the Handy Mart on 1000 South Memorial Drive on Tuesday around 11:42 p.m.

The suspect was described as a black man, approximately 5’10’-6’0 and was last seen wearing a dark grey or black hoodie, black jogging pants, black Nike shoes, and a black/white bandana.  

According to police, the suspect was armed with a handgun.  

During the incident, the clerk was assaulted by the suspect.  

The clerk was transported to Vidant with non-life threatening injuries.  

The suspect left with an unknown amount of currency, police said.
