GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) - A man accused of stealing dogs arrested after a traffic stop in Wayne County on Saturday.
Malyk R. Williams, 19, was charged with breaking and/or entering, larceny after breaking and/or entering, larceny of a firearm, six counts of larceny of a dog and failure to appear.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic violation on US HWY 70 east in front of Wilbur's BBQ Restaurant around midnight.
Deputies said that a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle.
Deputy Corbett said that the driver, identified as Keron Blackmon, had outstanding warrants including one for being an absconder from probation and parole and requested assistance.
Deputies arrested Blackmon without incident.
Williams was identified as being the right rear passenger and was taken into custody for an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear.
Williams was sent to the Wayne County Detention Center under a $49,000 bond.
