Only On 9: Mark Johnson talks about efforts made to secure classrooms across the state

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) - Web Exclusive: In today's school watch, 9 On Your Side reporter Nicole Neuman talked to State Superintendent Mark Johnson about the 2018-2019 school year.

When school starts, kindergarten through third-grade reading teachers are receiving new Ipads.

Other districts that don't support Apple products are receiving Google Chromebooks.

It's all in an effort to make teachers more efficient in the classroom as well as help students reach their appropriate reading grade level.

School safety is also something that is at the forefront for the state superintendent.

In our interview, Johnson talks about the efforts being made to secure classrooms across the state.
