WINTERVILLE, N.C. - Volunteers from U.S. Cellular and youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain teamed up this afternoon to celebrate Earth Day.
They worked to revitalize flower beds and prepare them for spring plantings.
This comes after a $20,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastal Plain by U.S. Cellular to provide K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) educational opportunities to youth for the fifth consecutive year.
This is part of a $1 million donation to clubs across the country and $70,500 in North Carolina in 2019.
With a particular focus on STEM programming and learning, U.S. Cellular’s charitable efforts have funded more than 50 Boys & Girls Clubs afterschool and academic enrichment programs for the last five years.
