GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – With Valentine’s Day about 3 weeks away, 9 On Your Side is helping you get ready while utilizing your creative side.
Seasonal decor can get pricey, so WNCT’s Maria Satira took a look at Pinterest and talked with a local crafter about how we can be festive and budget friendly.
With only a few dollars, you can creative several Valentine’s Day-themed vases.
With the help of Pitt County crafter, Kathryn Bulow, these DIY heart decorated bottles and vases are perfect for your home or even as a gift.
Here’s what you’ll need:
– A vase or bottle of your choice
– Foam heart stickers, which you can find at your local dollar store
– Decorative branches or stems
Kathryn utilized her resources for stems at no-cost to her.
“These stems are actually from my backyard and I’m sure you can find some as well.”
You can also use painted wine bottles, clear bottles, vases or pitchers. The possibilities are endless.
All you have to do is put in a few of your decorative stems or branches and match up the same size foam heart stickers.
Go ahead and peel off the back and stick the two together, with the branch in between. Get creative and put as many or as few as you’d like.
This project will be really great to get your kids involved with too. They may like to help match the heart stickers with the same size and color.
