FARMVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning shooting.
Officials tell us a man was shot around 3am in the 6000 block of Stantonsburg Road in Farmville.
Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Christy Wallace says Matthew Fleming was arrested for shooting the man after an argument.
The victim was taken to Vidant Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
9 On Your Side was the only crew on scene as Fleming was handcuffed and put in the back of the patrol car.
Fleming is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and Flee/Elude Arrest with Motor Vehicle.
He’s being held on a million dollar bond at the Pitt County Detention Center.
