Man sentenced to 35 years in prison for trafficking heroin from New York to New Bern

A man who pleaded guilty to multiple drug charges related to a heroin trafficking ring was sentenced to 35 years in federal prison on Thursday in U.S. Federal Court in New Bern.

34-year-old Calvin Mark Wilson was sentenced to 35 years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin, possession of 1,000 grams or more of heroin with the intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Wilson was arrested in October 2017 after local, state and federal agents conducted a multi-year investigation into alleged heroin trafficking from New York to New Bern, resulting in the arrests of 15 other people, and the seizure of 20 firearms and over 1 kilogram of heroin.
