Mission Barbecue to offer free meals on Veterans Day for those who served

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Mission Barbecue in Jacksonville is looking out for service members on Veterans Day.

The restaurant will serve up some free food for any veteran who comes in their doors on Sunday.

At noon, there will be a live performance of the National Anthem.

“We’re having free sandwiches for all veterans,” said Jason Jones, operating partner at the restaurant. “So from the time we open to the time we close, this is a day for us to give back and say thanks. And we’d love to have as many people come out as possible. It’s just like any other day except we get to give back as much as possible. But the best part about it is to say thank you.”

Mission Barbecue will be open from 11:30 in the morning until 8 at night Sunday.

The restaurant is located on Western Boulevard in Jacksonville.
