More than 1,000 come out to today’s Special Olympics


Lenoir County is celebrating victories tonight after their annual Special Olympics.

More than a thousand people filled the Kinston High School Football field for today’s games.

Participants got the chance to compete in a variety of event including the softball throw, 50-meter dash or walk, long jump, and a wheelchair race.

Students from Kinston High School took time out from their day to volunteer with the more than 500 Olympians came out for all the fun.
