More than 20,000 people expected at Greenville’s Fourth of July

Greenville Parks and Recreation is expecting more than 20,000 people to fill Town Common Wednesday for the Fourth of July. 

They are teaming up with Greenville Police to handle safety and security. 

There will be 75 officers working the event and surrounding parking lots. 

1st Street will be closed from Greene Street to Meade Street. 

It is important for pedestrians to watch out when walking around in the area. 

Parking is available at any of the public lots, as well as the ECU lots on Reade Street. 

The event begins at 3 p.m. and runs until 9:30 p.m., complete with live music, food vendors and more. 

The big fireworks display will go off around dusk.
