Morehead City firefighters injured in training accident

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WNCT) – Two firefighters were injured in a morning training accident involving an ATV, according to Morehead City Fire/EMS Chief Jamie Fulk.

The two received non-life threatening injuries during Wednesday’s accident around 9:30 a.m.

ATVs are used in operations when regular emergency vehicles cannot be used.

Fulk said four firefighters were on an ATV when it rolled over and the accident injured two.

One was treated and released at Carteret HealthCare. The other was receiving further treatment and being evaluated as of Wednesday afternoon.

The cause is still under investigation.
