N.C. Flu Update: 148 deaths, more than 8,000 people test positive since September

North Carolina health officials say, since Sept. 30th, more than 8,000 people have tested positive for flu, and nearly 150 people have died.

According to a new report from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, 148 people have died from influenza between September 30, 2018, and March 16, 2019, with 7 of those deaths happening since March 10.

Statewide, officials say 8,012 people have tested positive for influenza since September 30, 2018.
