N.C. general fund sees increase in revenue in February

North Carolina saw an increase in general fund revenue this February, compared to last year.

The Office of the State Controller says tax revenues in February 2019 increased by $273.1 million, or 1.9 percent, and non-tax revenues increased by $47.1 million, or 9.9 percent, compared to February 2018.

The General Fund’s unreserved fund balance as of February 2019 was $1.15 billion, compared to $1.04 billion as of February 2018.

As of February 2019, nearly 58 percent of the total state budget for the Fiscal Year 2019 has been spent on education.
