MANTEO, N.C. (WNCT) – The National Park Service wants you to join them this weekend and next week.
From April 16 to April 24 there is no cost to visit any of the nation’s parks. The free week is part of National Park Week.
This year, the National Park Service is also celebrating 100 years.
Eastern North Carolina features four National Parks in the Outer Banks area.
Fort Raleigh National Historic Site is in Manteo; Cape Lookout National Seashore is in Harkers Island; Cape Hatteras National Seashore is in Nags Head, Buxton, and Ocracoke; and The Wright Brothers National Memorial is in Kill Devil Hills.
