2-year-old hit, killed by SUV in South Carolina

INMAN, S.C. (WSPA) – Emergency crews responded after a 2-year-old boy was hit by a SUV Wednesday evening in Inman, South Carolina.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 6:04 p.m. in the 5300 block of New Cut Road near Ballenger Road and Moores Farm Drive.

A man was driving a Toyota SUV south on New Cut Road when the toddler was crossing the roadway.

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office said Julian Nichols was pronounced dead at the scene at about 6:43 p.m. He lived on New Cut Road, according to the coroner’s office.

The driver of the SUV was not injured during the crash.

SCHP and the coroner’s office will continue to investigate the crash.
