A large sinkhole has formed on the campus of Tarpon Springs High School in Florida, school officials said Friday.
The pit was discovered next to the Jacobson Culinary Arts Academy building before 7 a.m. this morning.
Engineers said the sinkhole is 12 ft. deep and 20 ft. wide.
Pinellas County Schools spokeswoman Lisa Wolf-Chason said the district is working with city officials to investigate the sinkhole and that students and staff are being told to avoid the area.
Students in the Culinary Arts building have been moved to a different part of campus.
Engineers plan to fence the area while they conduct ground testing and fill the sinkhole with dirt.
