More than 5.2 million comic books will be given away on Saturday on Free Comic Book Day
Over 2,200 comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world will give away free comic books as part of an annual event, one of the most anticipated comic book celebrations of the year, as retailers prepare to welcome curious, first-time comic book readers and seasoned comic book fans into their stores for free comics and exciting events.
Along with giving out free comics, many comic shops host community events throughout the day, such as creator signings, character appearances, costume contests, plus great sales and deals on exclusive items. Click here to find participating local stores.

Comic books began in the 1930s as a unique American art form that has grown – like so many American forms of entertainment – to spread around the globe.
Comics feature a wide range of stories that capture the readers’ imagination and send them on an adventure across countries, worlds, and even galaxies. Free Comic Book Day is a salute to the medium that encourages literacy, imagination, and boundless creativity.
