GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT)- Sunday, January 31st is the last day to enroll for 2016 coverage for the health insurance marketplace. Those who don’t can face a fine of $695 or 2.5 percent of their income, whichever is higher.
To help anyone who hasn’t enrolled, two towns in the east are holding free appointments with Certified Marketplace Navigators. They will be able to answer questions about ACA insurance, and help people make the best coverage decision for themselves and their families.
Navigators will be available at the Access East office in Greenville, near Vidant Health. It will run from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
There is also Navigators ready to help at at Brown Library in Washington between 1:00 and 6:00 p.m. Walk-ins appointments are a first come first serve basis, or people can make an appointment by calling (252) 847-3027, or visit www.getcoveredamerica.org/connector
Things to bring to the appointments include Social Security numbers, or document numbers for legal immigrants, employer name and phone number, and income information for every member of a household who is working, or who has income and needs coverage. Navigators use say to bring policy numbers for current health-insurance plans covering all household members.
