KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – The Neuseway Nature Center in Kinston turns 20 this year.
Lenoir County obtained the property in 1980 after residents in the area were relocated because of flooding.
Families gathered Sunday afternoon to celebrate with free train rides, planetarium shows, crafts, and birthday cake.
Kinston-Lenoir County Parks and Recreation Administrative Manager Debra Wicker says she wants parents to know what’s available for kids in Kinston.
“The Nature Center is free, the planetarium is free, and the train rides are a dollar per person. We have a wonderful picnic area right by the Neuse River. We have a campground that is utilized all of the time,” Wicker said.
Wicker says the park is open every day, except Monday. For more information, click here.
