New Bern’s Warren traded back to Yankees in Chapman deal


NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – Former New Bern high school standout and North Carolina Tar Heel pitcher, Adam Warren was traded back to the New York Yankees on Monday.

Warren was one of five players offered by the Chicago Cubs, in exchange for relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman.

Warren started his MLB career with the Yankees in 2012.

In 29 appearances in 2016, Warran has a 5.91 ERA, giving up 23 earned runs in 35 innings of relief pitching.
