DUCK, N.C. (AP) – A New York businessman has drowned while swimming in the ocean while on vacation on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.
Multiple media outlets reported that 46-year-old Ronald J. Walls III of Henrietta, New York, was pulled from the water earlier this week.
A spokeswoman for the town of Duck told the Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester (http://on.rocne.ws/1K8bLOK ) that people nearby and town personnel tried to revive Walls. Dare County paramedics also failed to revive the man.
Town spokeswoman Denise Walsh said surf conditions were moderate, with waves of between four and six feet. She said there were no visible rip currents.
Walls was the founder and CEO of a computer services company in Henrietta, KNR Computer Service.
