Raleigh Police say a Durham Public Schools worker was driving impaired when she caused a head-on crash that injured a man, and then left the scene, on Sunday night.
Jeanna Jenning Joint, 37, of Durham was involved in the wreck late Sunday on Glenwood Avenue near Ebenezer Church Road, officials say.
The wreck happened as Joint was heading west in the eastbound lane around 11:35 p.m. Sunday, according to a magistrate’s order.
Joint, who works as the treasurer at Holt Elementary School, has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation, according to a Durham Public Schools spokesman.
Authorities said they found marijuana and that Joint tried to leave the scene after the wreck, which injured a man.
A court document said that Joint, who had alcohol on her breath, admitted to drinking and driving the wrong way.
Joint was charged with hit and run, possessing of marijuana up to a half ounce and DWI.
Joint’s bond was set at $4,000.
