Two Marines and a Navy sailor based out of Camp Lejeune are under investigation after the death of a contractor overseas.
Lockheed Martin released a statement saying one of its employees were “fatally injured supporting Special Operations Forces within the Operation Inherent Resolve area of operations in a non-combat related incident.”
According to the Maj. Nick Mannweiler, communication strategy officer for the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command, the sailor and Marines are Lejeuene-based Raiders.
Lockheed Martin said it is “supporting the Naval Criminal Investigation Service as they conduct an investigation into the circumstances” of the contractor’s death.
Neither MARSOC nor Lockheed Martin has not released the contractor’s name.
