STATESVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) - One person was killed in North Carolina Thursday after winds from Tropical Storm Michael knocked a tree onto their car, according to CBS affiliate WBTV.
It happened in Statesville around 1 p.m. near the intersection of Mocksville Highway and Songbird Lane.
There have a number of reports of fallen trees in the area.
The victim's name has not been released, WBTV reports.
