ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCT) – State and local law enforcement have apprehended four juveniles who escaped Wednesday night from the Edgecombe Youth Development Center.
Officials with the Spring Hope Police Department said they apprehended Dakota Y. from Guilford County; Joshua G. from Wake County; Justin M. from Carteret County; and Juan M. of New Hanover County in Spring Hope Thursday morning at around 9:45 a.m. All four juveniles have been returned to secure custody.
The escape occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night, according to officials.
Officials from the Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice said they had been concerned for the safety of the juveniles and the public due to assaultive behavior demonstrated during the escape, as well as prior history of unpredictable behavior.
