Online Originals: Sam D. Bundy school receives $1,000 donation

Pecheles Automotive Group in Greenville is giving back to Pitt County schools.

From September through May, the company holds several social media contests.

The school with the most likes and shares on Facebook and Instagram wins $1,000 to directly benefit the students.

“You can just tell they are so excited to see that their great behavior and what they worked hard for is going to be appreciated and their good positive goals will be rewarded and that’s kind of what life is all about,” said Brian Pecheles, president of Pecheles Automotive Group.

The winner of April’s contest is Sam D. Bundy Elementary School in Farmville.

The money is going towards the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports program to reward students for their positivity.

“I think it keeps them motivated throughout the year I know it can get tough toward the end waiting for summer break. This is something that’s very beneficial for them to keep going,” said Erica Bray, a fourth-grade teacher at Sam D. Bundy Elementary.
