Online subscription discounts available for college students


GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – It’s back to school for tens of thousands of college students across Eastern North Carolina.

We’re taking a look at how your student ID can save you some money on technology and online subscriptions.

Textbook favorite, Amazon Prime, offers a special student program called Prime Student.

Students a 50% discount from the regular price Prime membership, so they can get a year for just $49. If you’re new to the program you can also get a six month free trial.

For music-streaming, Apple Music also offers a discounted rate for students at qualifying schools for up to four years.

If you go to ECU, you can qualify as long as you confirm your enrollment online through UNiDAYS.

When it comes to software, check out Adobe’s Creative Cloud Suite.

The Suite, which includes InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Premiere Pro, is available for $19.99 a month or you can get Photoshop online for $9.99 a month.

This deal ends September 2, 2016 and you must be enrolled in an accredited school or university.

When it comes time to write papers and assignments, Microsoft as students covered.

The company is giving students the online versions of Microsoft Office for free as long as they have a valid school email address.

As far as local restaurants, movie theaters, and stores, ask if they offer a discount for students. Oftentimes local businesses will give a discount as long as you show a valid student ID.
