CHARLOTTE, NC (AP)- Sunday’s NFC Championship game is being played in Charlotte, North Carolina, with the Panthers, the top-seed in the conference, entertaining second seed Arizona.

The last time these teams met was in a wild-card playoff game in January of last year. Carolina got the win that day, 27-16.

As you might guess these teams dominate the NFC Pro Bowl selections with 10 players named from Carolina and seven from Arizona.

We can expect a high-scoring game as the teams are ranked 1-2 in the NFL in scoring.

Each team features a red-hot quarterback as Carson Palmer has led his team to wins in 26 of the last 31 games he’s started for the Cardinals, while Cam Newton is enjoying an MVP caliber season. He had an NFL-high 45 combined touchdowns between passing and rushing.

On Friday Panthers coach Ron Rivera ruled out defensive end Jared Allen because of an injured foot. Rivera says that Kony Ealy will start in Allen’s place. Allen broke a bone in his foot in the fourth quarter of Carolina’s 31-24 win over Seattle last Sunday.

To the winners of today’s game goes a spot in Super Bowl 50 which is being played in Santa Clara, California, at the home field of the 49ers on Feb. 7.
