FARMVILLE, NC (WNCT) – Pitt Community College’s satellite campus in Farmville is officially open.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the Farmville Center on Wednesday. PCC President, Dr. Dennis Massey, says the expansion is important for both the college and the community.
“This is a significant step forward for Pitt Community College, for Pitt County, and particularly for the town of Farmville,” said Dr. Massey. “We’ve worked for over 8 years on extending learning to the community, and trying to establish a base of operations here in Farmville.”
The first class will be held Friday, but it’s only for Farmville Central High School students. On Monday, regular class schedules will begin for the Spring 2016 semester.
The first class offered is a continuing education course called Secrets to Landing a Job. It’s free to eligible students.
