Pirates work out for first time in Lubbock

LUBBOCK (WNCT) – East Carolina worked out for the first time in Lubbock preparing for the upcoming NCAA Super Regionals this weekend.

The Pirates got their first look at the artificial surface at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park on Wednesday night. ECU will work out again tomorrow at the home of the Red Raiders of Texas Tech.

Tonight’s practice was a bit of a bonus for the visitors from East Carolina.

“It’s great that Coach (Tim) Tadlock is letting us practice on the field,” said Pirate coach Cliff Godwin. “He could have said no. So we get an extra practice on their field when we might not have had the opportunity to.”

The entire NCAA Super Regional at Lubbock is a sellout this weekend.
