GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The North Carolina Department of Insurance reported the arrest of a Grifton insurance agent connection to embezzlement cases in five counties.
Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin said insurance investigators claim David Pickett took nearly $30,000 of insurance premiums for health care coverage and never applied them to insurance policies.
The embezzlement claims are from 13 people living in Craven, Harnett, Lenoir, Pitt and Wayne Counties.
Pickett turned himself in to Pitt County on Oct. 12 and was placed under a $180,000 bond.
