Pitt County observes National Day of Prayer

People of all ages races and backgrounds came out to do one thing, pray.

In Greenville, people came to the Pitt County Courthouse to pray for the national day of prayer.

Community leaders from our local government, church leaders to business owners lead prayers, songs, and words of comfort for our community, state, and nation.

9 On Your Side spoke to one local business owner Jay Bastardo who said why a day like today is needed.

“It’s not only a great thing but a necessary thing for our community where our community coming together and worship the all mighty, from different walks of life different faith backgrounds,” said Bastardo

Bastardo goes on to say he prays that the Greenville community continues to go in the right path and what he feels is our nations divisive tone will change.
