Pitt County woman charged with selling narcotics on Seymour Johnson AFB

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – A Pitt County woman has been charged with selling and distributing narcotics to civilians and active duty airmen on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Morgan Michelle Moots, 27, of Bell Arthur, has been charged with trafficking in opiates by possession, transportation, sell, and delivery; sell/deliver cocaine; sell/deliver Schedule II controlled substance; possession with intent to sell/deliver heroin; possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine; and felony maintaining a motor vehicle.

Investigators discovered that Moots was facilitating transactions of narcotics on base as part of a continuing investigation that saw another woman charged.

Roberta Ann McClure, 29, was arrested and charged in late February after being accused of selling narcotics to airmen at Seymour Johnson while making food deliveries on base.

Moots has been placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $1 million secured bond.(WNCN contributed to this report)
