WILLIAMSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Four teens and two juveniles face attempted murder charges for a July shooting in Williamston.
Williamston Police tell 9 On Your Side the shooting happened on July 3rd. Officers were called to Martin General Hospital around 9p.m. in reference to a person suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police identified the victim as John Whitley.
Whitley transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville to receive further treatment.
As a result of the investigation, police were able to identity six teenagers involved in the shooting.
Police arrested and charged 17-year-old Tyree Williams, 16-year-old Trashawn Harrell, 16-year-old Dyrique Johnson, and 16-year-old Eric Brown II. Police also charged two other juveniles in connection to the shooting.

The suspects face multiple felonies including Attempted First Degree Murder and Attempted Armed Robbery.
All four suspects were given $500,000 bonds. Their next court appearance is scheduled for June 22nd.
