Raleigh police report officer-involved shooting

UPDATE: Raleigh police said there was a deadly officer-involved shooting on Saturday night just off New Bern Avenue.

The incident was reported in the 1000 block of North Rogers Lane, according to a news release from Raleigh police.

Police said the officer-involved shooting happened just after 8:30 p.m.

CBS 17 reporter Kelly Kennedy reported that the suspect in the officer-involved shooting died.

The area is just off New Bern Avenue behind a Dairy Queen and Sheetz gas station. A Food Lion store and Overtime Sports Bar are in the shopping center where the incident was reported.

Dozens of Raleigh police vehicles were at the scene and the entire shopping center in the area was closed.

No other details were released by Raleigh police.
