The Rotary Club of Morehead City will host the second annual Saving a Lifetime of Memories concert.
The benefit is to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
All proceeds go to Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust, CART.
Last year the organization was able to raise $12,000.
Friday night, the club exceeded that amount to $14,000.
The organization says while there may be a concert, it’s much more than that.
“Like I said educate and show them what’s available out there, organization-wise for research and everything like that. That’s what we’re attempting to do,” said Rick Johnson, member of the Rotary Club of Morehead City.
Johnson said 31 local businesses donated more than $10,000 in the search to find a cure for the disease.
“Having gone to all these businesses, approach them and explain, what we’re attempting to do…highly, highly, receptive to supporting Alzheimer’s on top of everything that they’re doing in this community,” said Johnson.
The event will be held at Glad Tidings Church in Morehead City.
Doors open at 6 p.m.
Tickets can be bought at the door.
