(WSPA) – One person has been charged with DUI after a Ware Shoals High School student was killed in a crash late Saturday night in Greenville County, South Carolina.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 11:30pm on Highway 25 in southern Greenville County.
Troopers say a Volkswagen traveling southbound crossed the center line and struck a Dodge head-on.
The driver and passenger in the Dodge were taken to the hospital where the passenger later died.
The Greenville County Coroner identified the victim as 18-year-old Trinity Brandasia Harrison of Greenwood.
The driver of the Volkswagen, 27-year-old Carter Owen of Pelzer, was taken to the hospital by helicopter.
Owen has been charged with Felony DUI Resulting in Death, according to Highway Patrol.
According to Greenwood School District 51 Superintendent Dr. Fay Sprouse, Harrison was on her way home from the prom when the crash happened.
Harrison was a senior at Ware Shoals High School.
