Six-year-old girl from New Hanover County located

WILMINGTON, N.C.( WNCT) – A six-year-old girl from New Hanover County that was the subject of an Amber Alert has been located.
The New Hanover Sheriff’s Office said in a morning news conference that they located the girl within two miles of her home.  She’s said to be doing well, according to the family.
The six-year-old had last been seen at a mobile home park on the 5100 block of Carolina Beach Road in Wilmington.
46-year-old Douglas Edwards of Wilmington is in custody in connection with the girl’s abduction. He’s charged with first-degree kidnapping and was picked up in New Hanover County Thursday morning.
Authorities said he’s a registered sex offender.
