SOUTHERN STORM WATCH: Conditions in Greenville

News

WNCT’s Aaron Deane spoke with Greenville Utilities to find out what they had in place for Friday’s storm.

They said they prepare all year for moments like these with their year-round tree trimmings, and even though it is a holiday week, they have a 24/7 troubleshooting team in place.

On top of that, they also have an extra dispatcher who is currently working and extra crew members on standby in case of emergencies.

Earlier, Deane spoke with Emily Garner with Greenville Utilities who said, “We’ll bring those crews in. All those extra crews in. And hop to it as soon as you know danger is past, we can let them get out there and do their thing. I think we’re pretty prepared for it.”

Also, on the Greenville Utilities’ website, you can check on and report power outages in your area and you can see the confirmed number of power outages there are currently.

As for now in Greenville according to their website, there are no confirmed outrages in the area.
Garner also said that these numbers are being watched at all times.

If you want to report an outage, sewer spill, gas leak, water leak, or any other utility emergency contact GUC’s Emergency Hotline, 1-855-767-2482.
