NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – Craven County has become a magnet site for foreign trade zones.

State Department of Transportation officials paid a visit to new bern Tuesday afternoon where they toured Chatsworth Products, a 100 percent employee owned, locally based global company, as well as the industrial park.

Foreign trade zone administrator Sebastian Montagne said it’s great to see large businesses in North Carolina.

“The reality is there is no thing as a small town anymore and everyone is competing in a global marketplace,” Montagne said. “So these kinds of incentives and program really allows each one of those areas to be better competitive matched with the other part”

Montagne said he’s excited to see how much New Bern grows in the next five to ten years.
